In her line of vision a young couple snuggles together on one side of the table, on a bench, the man�s arm around the woman. They read from the same page of the newspaper and whisper, unaware of the busy bagel shop. The young teen, trying not to reveal her interest to her parents, watches them without watching. In front of a jewelry store a young woman sits on the feet of a giant plaster bear. She looks at the ground, seeming quite alone, posed like the thinker. Behind her, the bear was decorated with a bejeweled sweater that reads I Am Loved. Citizen Gerta, fully adorned in her biggest white straw hat and most polished white sandals, struggles with her cane down the crumbling sidewalk. An elderly African-African man helps her along with his arm around her shoulder as they walked to church. Citizen Gerta, expressing a thought, stops and waves her cane in the air for emphasis.
A man walks down the street with a young girl on his shoulders. She has a bag of cheerios and feeds them to the man with her sticky, pink, little fingers. A prim little lady in a gray dress with a white collar, waits to cross the busy street.
